Is this a good enough fitness level going into Air force basic training?
1 Mile-8 Minutes
Pushups-40
Situps-40
Pullups-8
What do you guys think I need to improve on before I go into Basic Training? Probably the mile?Going into Air force basic training at this fitness level? You need to work on your sit-ups hardcore. 40?!? I don't mean to be an *** but that's not to good. And you need to start running 1.5 miles instead of just one. Your Pushups and Pullups aren't bad though, I'll give you that. When do you leave? Hopefully you can improve your stats.
Get your 1.5 mile around 11:30 or under. Also try to run atleast 2 miles minimum before leaving. And Don't listen to these assholes telling you it's gonna be easy.
edit: Since your not leaving till april you'll do fine. Just work on your pushups, and run.Going into Air force basic training at this fitness level?
you can go to the website for the airforce and they have videos of the average day. But you will definately need to be able run more because they jog/run a couple miles each day. Also if you want it to be easier then you should just get stronger in general. Another tip is to stop eating any sweets and get used to eating in a five minute period because you never want to go to sleep hungry.
And never put any sauces on your food because this takes valuable time that could be used for eating.Going into Air force basic training at this fitness level?you're ahead of me, I'm going to basic March 10th, I can get about 35 sit up/push ups, 12:30 for my 1.5 mile, and 5 pull ups. I figured that I was going to be fine so you'll be fine too. I would just say to start running 1.5 miles cuz thats what we gotta do down there anyways. Im gunna go for thunderbolt you might be able to get Warhawk if you keep improving your numbers.
Don't listen to the haters they either were'nt smart enough for the AF or they have a felony(s) so they had to join something else.
I am also training for BMT... I'm doing a 15:00 run (1.5 mi), about 35-40 push ups and 2 pull-ups... I'm not even going to tell you about my sit-ups! LOL! It's pathetic (but I just had a baby and have NO abdominal muscles left!)
I workout daily, joined the gym... I haven't been given a date yet, but I figured I might as well work my *** of in the mean time! I want to exceed the expectations....
Good luck... Sounds like you're doing great! And the fact that you care and are concerned about it, is a good thing. So, ignore anyone who says don't worry or makes it seem less important.Going into Air force basic training at this fitness level?I believe your recruiter was supposed to give you a paper telling you how much you had to do to pass BMT. There is standard, liberator (honors) and warhawk (extrodinary).
It says it on there what you're supposed to do. lol unfortunately I cant find that sheet right now, if not I would've posted the requirements.Going into Air force basic training at this fitness level?
I was in the Marine Corps, and my recruiter answered all these questions for me. You're right, the 8 minute mile is your weakest point...I would work on everything...cause the better shape you are in when you go to bootcamp, the easier it is...trust me on this

Really, you don't have to worry about it. It will be a lot easier than it's made out to be physically. What you listed here is more than enough.
That is a good enough fitness level. The air force is more laid back then all the others.
Don't worry...the Air Force isn't a real Armed Service...you don't have to be in great shape to be effective...just smart
They don't call it the Chair Force for nothing.
You don't need to be fit like that like you do in the marines or army...navy and air force are for cowards.
nothing i had a buddy go in and i think he came out 5lbs heavier...
