Is it possible to raise my fitness levels enough in this short amount of time?

I'm joining the armed forces and i have a fitness test in 8weeks, i have to run 1.5miles (2.4km) in 10min on a treadmill, i can currently run it in 12min but struggle so i need to up the speed from 12km/h to 14.5km/h, but i have recently hurt my knee aswell so lets say i have 6 weeks to do this, will it be possible?? any tips?Is it possible to raise my fitness levels enough in this short amount of time?yes it's very achievable. Wait until your knee is better. Don't train hard with a bad knee. The best exercise when you can't run is swimming. This way you have little impact on your leg and you can increase you lung capacity. If you can, ride a bike and do a lot of push-ups. If you do this until your knee is better, you'll be right on track to reach your goal of 1.5 miles in 10 min.
