Hey guys,
Need a bit of advice. I have just set up a latin american dance/fitness classes and because I haven't done this before I find it hard to really motivate my class. I think I'm still a bit quiet. I feel silly shouting lol. Just wonder if anyone else had advice on how to break this barrier or does it come with experience?
Thanks :0)How to build your confidence as a dance/fitness instructor?Focus on proljecting your voice as opposed to shouting. You can find voice coaches in any phone directory if you want proffesional advice on how to do that.
You can breathe from your diaphragm, a deep resonant breath and project your voice.
As for the confidence, what you could do is take what they call 'Toastmasters', this is a great way of increasing your overall confidence as you speak to a large group of people, and when you do your confidence sky rockets.
So there you go:
Toastmasters.
Voice coach.
Confidence seminars.
Best of luck. How to build your confidence as a dance/fitness instructor?I have been to some Latin American Dance fitness classes before... And I think to motivate people, music is really important as well. Use music with strong beat.
Also, I guess you will also be counting... trying to count to the music rhythm. I.e. For a cha cha (I guess thats one of the dance), the accent is 1 and 3. So try and count those 2 beats louder....
Hope this helps
