last year when i was in 6th grade, i had a time of 9:02 for a mile and this past fall, my time was 10:04! more than a minute added to my time! i want to be able to run the mile for fitness testing in under 9 minutes. tips for WHILE i am running the mile? and the night before? thanks!Tips to help me while running the mile for fitness test?Being an avid runner, I would say you need to start running at least a few times a week on your own. Start with maybe 1/2 a mile and work your way up to 2 miles, that way doing 1 mile will feel easy. The whole day before, hydrate by drinking extra water and gatorade, and don't eat anything greasy or heavy like fast food. While you are actually running, focus on pumping your arms hard, as this is where you can get some of your speed. Also focus on breathing, making your breaths as controlled and regular as possible.
Good luck!Tips to help me while running the mile for fitness test?really, when running a mile you cant just do specific things the night before and expect to be great at it or cut a min off your time by the next day. you would need to train and get into better shape by running everyday before the test. but if you dont want to do this the best advice i can give would be to get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water.
