What components of fitness do i need for general fitness ?

I'm doing my PEP for p.e and i chose general fitness as my activity , so can anyone tell me what components of fitness i need please.

There are 4 components of fitness - Strength, Stamina, Suppleness and Speed. To have a general good all round fitness workout, the best thing to do could be to participate in a good circuit training program / class. The 4 components of fitness are also known as "The 4 S's".



It is important to have these as having just one or two may compromise another, for example - a large body builder may be large and strong with muscle mass (strength), however they may not be supple or have a great deal of stamina because of their size. Therefore, it is good to have an all round fitness level.

Nicola (RSA - Fitness Instructor)What components of fitness do i need for general fitness ?I don't know what PEP stands for but to me the components of general fitness are cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and stretching. A simplified answer as to why you need each: cardio is to keep your heart healthy, strength training keeps your muscles strong, and stretching is important to keep you limber.
